London Eyre and Spottiswoode (c. 1905) 75pp. With frontispiece illustration from photogravure. Contains the complete text of the baptismal service. This miniature was clearly intended to be used during the church service, as text that was spoken aloud is printed in black, and explanatory text is printed in red. The first two pages include spaces to record the child's name, the date and location of baptism, and the names of sponsoring Godparents. An extremely rare text with a brilliant silver cover after Joshua Reynolds, bearing a relief engraving of five cherubs on a cloud, framed by the Latin pronouncement of baptism, backed in off-white morocco, which shows some soiling.
